Sustainable Consumption & Production

Through the implementation of the Northwest Climate Change Action Plan, the region is taking the lead on climate change, energy and wider sustainable development.

The NWDA has highlighted the key priorities and outlined the role of regional organisations in delivering the Action Plan. It has also identified how the Northwest can tap into the £30 billion opportunity that climate change represents for British business over the next ten years.

Sustainable consumption and production is acknowledged as one of the most significant challenges facing the world today. Businesses and organisations are becoming increasingly aware of the impact that climate change could have on their operations and are rightly making it central to their decision-making processes.

The NWDA has a clear view on the direction we want to go in as a region, including influencing and guiding Government policy on climate change and energy. The Northwest is determined to demonstrate real progress in this area, becoming a champion for climate change activity and sustainable consumption and production.
